Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Bottle, Haven’t had in the Trappist just a pint glass, whatever. Poured an orange yellow with white head. Yeast and sugar in the aroma into the pallet. Carbonation sweet and a little sourness. Crisp but not a thriller.

A pure amber color, little head. Great flavors, no alchohol taste. My favorite Weyerbacher.

This is not one of my favorite styles, but I tried it because I’m a huge Weyerbacher fan, and I can’t get it anywhere in the Midwest, so when I’m out East, I make it a point to drink their stuff. Appearance has never been all that important to me, which is good, because it’s the color of wet straw with little head. Aromas of yeast and sugar leap from the glass. It has a long malty middle with a sweet Belgian-y backtaste, like a sweet version of Duvel. On the finish it segues from sweet to dry, a little champagne-like. It hides the alcohol pretty well (not necessarily a plus, since I like a little alcohol presence). Allowing for my lack of predisposition for the style, I’d call this interesting and somewhat distinctive, and those are both pluses in my book.

another nice beer from this brewery. This tripel is estery and thick, lots of banana, clove. maybe a little too much, and a very smooth, creamy mouthfeel. I little bit of tart apple, mildly dry finish.

I’m quickly losing appeal to this company. I"m not really impressed. I bought a sampler case and it’s not impressing so far. This aroma is nice, but citric and sugary. It’s appearance is undeniably gorgeous. It’s flavor is what really disappoints it’s like, well honestly it’s like cider. It’s nothing I’d expected, I thought something else. It’s crispy in the finish not too bitter, but nothing special either. It’s kind of ordinary.

bottle at least a year old... hazy golden pour with really active carbonation. it’s topped by a thick whitish head that quickly disappears and fades to a ring. big time aroma of bananas followed by yeast, pale maltiness, fruit, spiciness and an alcohol sting. the flavor is much the same... lightly sweet with notes of cinnamon breadiness. spicy alcoholic finish and on the breath. medium bodied with a soft mouth feel and a creamy texture. lacks a bit of character but it’s quite tasty....

Pours a golden color with an orange tint. A nice thick foamy white head, but it dissipated very quickly. Nose of clove, banana, licorice, pears and some yeast. Taste is good caramel malt with some yeasty apple flavor. Some other fruit as well, but it is very mellow. Finishes a with a little bit of a bitter taste, but the warming alcohol is what you really get. Medium bodied beer.

Dry grape with berry melon ending. Medium head head with lots of carbonation. Clear moderate golden color. Slight fruity malt flavor that fades to mild tangy taste. light but slick palate.
