Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Aslightly cloudy golden yellow color with a thin head. A citrus aroma. There was aslight alcohol aroma and taste, but masked pretty well. There is an initial crisp bite with a smooth creamy sweet finish of molasses. This is a very good beer with a variety of flavors

My first rating, and I’m a big Belgian fan so this may be a bit high. Beautiful golden color, nice sweet taste, a bit (too) fruity, great overall.

12 oz bottle. Gold, cloudy appearance. Sweet taste, but it eventually became a bit too much for me. Great carbonation at the beginning, but that fell off shortly after. Made me dizzy right away (which I was cool with). I think I’ll pass on this in the future.

This is a typical golden brown tripel color. The aroma is sweet with a bit of apple scent. There is a distinct flavor of bubble gum and the apple remains. Weyerbacher Big Bear Case, $38 Stone’s on Fairmount, Phila, PA

Aromas of apple, grass, cloves, yeast, candy sugar and a creamy sweetness. It pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Candy sugar flavors laced with a complex juicy-fruit gum character. A fairly good tripel, Weyerbacher does it again!

355 ml. Beautiful beer with a shiny and bubbly, clear golden body and a medium-sized head that lasts. Spicy yeast, apples, bubblegum, and grass in the aroma. Bubblegum and fruity, white wine flavors with some slight alcohol and rock candy in the dryish finish. Palate is to the smaller side of medium-bodied; tingly, yet smooth, and just dry enough on the finish. Not a favorite style, but a fine example thereof, and rated accordingly.

12 oz bottle, golden amber color. Aroma is very yeasty and smells like a hefeweizen with an additional sugary sweetness. Sweet and fruity, but a complex taste. Dry finish and a definite hint of alcohol.

The best American-made Belgian style (Trippel or otherwise) I think I’ve ever had.
