Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Bottle. Hazy amber to light orange color with a quickly dissolving head. Bready, almost doughy/pasty aroma with some banana yeast and mild citrus and spice. Flavor of sweet biscuity malts with fruity notes and a sharp pepper/spice kick in the back. Fine carbonation at first flattens out kind of quickly. Fair if OK Penna tripel. Certainly nothing along the lines of its neighbor, Golden Monkey.

Pours a hazy gold with small white head. Aroma of cloves, banana, yeast and citrus. Flavor was crisp with malts, spices and yeast up front and a bit of hops in the finish. Champagne- like in body and carbonation. Very good Belgian style for an American brewer.

Pours a yeasty dark gold with a small white head. Smells of big citrus fruit, some banana, and some spicy clove. Some definite spicy clove and banana flavors really show up. Some orange citrus, and other cinnamon spice pretty much round out the flavors. Nice unique flavor, I think its interesting for a normally uninteresting style. I think its a bit underrated in m opinion.

Phenolic aroma of lower quality grains, some peaches. Golden color, floating sediments, no head. Prominent alcohol, apple and clove notes. Takes on a plastic taste during warming. Brief appearance of bubble gum at mid palate. Lemon grass finish. My initial impression was that this was a mediocre beer, but now I think it is just plain bad. With apologies to Mr. Horse, "No sir, I didn’t like it"

Pours a clouded amber gold with minimal head. Nose is heavy with perfume and a citrus edge and also a gummy tone. Flavor is tangy with citrus, but is subdued enough that it isn’t overpowering. Feel is gummy and bordering on syrupy from ingredients. Very drinkable. A smooth and well made brew. Anyone in the U.S. who can brew a Belgian style and pull it off is definitely worth giving respect to and trying.

Bottle. A light hazy golden beer with a white head. The aroma is of yeast, fruits and grass, the taste is sweet malty, fruity and yeasty. Medium body with a sweet finish.

Clear, light golden hue. Small, creamy white head. Somewhat lasting with very little lacing. The nose is malty and yeasty with notes of fuzzy fruit, banana, peach and grapefruit. A whisper of English toffee. The alcohol is well-hidden in the nose. The flavor consists of sweet Belgian malt up front with bursts of caramel, toffee and fuzzy fruits. Nicely balanced. Lightly bitter and lightly acetic on the backside with a hefty dose of warming alcohol and grapefruit. Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation.
