Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Pours a clear golden color into the trappist glass. There was about an inch of tiny bubbles in the head, and very nice lacing. The scent was very bready with some malt, and candy coming through. A very drinkable tripel, but lacking the complexity that I look for in the style. A finish of some yeast, spice and alcohol.

Purchased from Noonan’s in Hamilton, OH. Aroma is fruits and spice. Flavor is spice, wineous, alcohol, hops, a little malt, and just a pinch of sugar. Nothing like what I expected. The bottle says "golden ale." I say BS. This is as dark flavored as you can get out of a "golden." Good for the fall season, when you need a warmer.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear golden/yellow with a huge white frothy head, this is starting off pretty good for Weyerbacher. Aroma of lots of yeast, spice and some banana notes, going pretty for Weyerbacher. Smooth palate with good carbonation and a medium/full body, uhm still going well considering it’s aa Weyerbacher. Flavor was lots of yeast and some tropical fruit sweetness going along nicely with the spicy peppery notes from the aroma. Wow for Weyerbacher this is pretty good stuff.

This beer poured a light golden color with a small white head. I have to say, from the first sip I was slightly confused. It tasted like sour applejuice. Lots of light fruits, pear, apples, and some sweet candi sugar. This might have been a bad bottle, because it had a distinct sour finish, and It doesn’t seem like anybody else is pointing that out in their ratings.

From 50 cL bottle. Pours pale yellow with a rim from a short living head. Aroma is banana, citric and bubblegum. Flavour is flavour is sweet and slight citric with a mild malty and bitterness. Finish is slight bubblegum flavour. I don’t stand too much bubblegum flavour and this beer simply has too much of it.

From a 12 oz. bottle, no bottling date, sediment at the bottom of bottle, sampled in a tulip glass. Poured a slightly hazy reddish orange with a tiny white head that quickly disappears into a fine, tiny bubbly lacing. Aromas of medicinal herbs, sweet dates and plums, a light spiciness and estery alcohol. Medium bodied with crisp carbonation, a pleasant tasting tripel, candied sugared plums, clove and a pinch of peppery spice, nutty yeastiness, a touch of dry herbs, noticeable alcohol, sugary solvent flavor, provides a low temperature warmth in the palate, a dry yeasty, fruity esters, solvent alcohol finish. While this was an easy sipper, I am wondering if I have a really fresh bottle, just didn’t taste full developed, tasted like it could use some aging. I will have to try another bottle a year from now.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of xproudfoot. Hazy golden with tiny impirities and a white, lacing head. Very fruity and almost flowery. Quite full-bodied with sweetish, malty and very fruity notes - lychee and melon. Very subdued bitterness. Nice indeed. 290607
