Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Bottle @ Papsoe’s. A fairly clear yellow with little pieces of yeast in the liquid. Head is white, small and mostly non-lacing. Aroma is sweet, has a dose of fruityness (mostly oranges and elderflowers). Flavours are equally mild with a lightly full mouthfeel. There is coriander, vanilla and weak caramel. Generally sweet, but too little complexity for the style.

Bottle. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Slightly cloudy body with an orange color. Aroma of yeast, elderflower, citrus, caramel, grain and light liquorish. Medium bodied with a light alcoholic texture and a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet flavor with a hint of bitter hops. Somewhat sweet finish.

Loved this! Kinda murkey reddish in color with a pretty off white head. Strong sweet fruity armoas give way to strong sweet fruity flavois. Malty and delish, full mouthfeel, chewy almost. Sweet finish would probably benefit from a short lay down period. Definitely another great offering from this brewer.
