Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

12oz brown bottle from Florian’s. Cloudy (though surprisingly clear for the style IMO) orange-yellow body with almost no head. Smells like orange, apricot, with hints of spice and alcohol. Tastes like orange, pith, spice, with hints of alcohol on the finish. Lighter in body than expected, and thus very pleasant and easy to drink for a 9.3%abv tripel. The alcohol could be a bit better hidden, but other than that ihis is a pleasant drinkable ale.

12 oz. bottle. Clear gold body under a rather spare white head with slippery lace. Bready yeast, apple, and light fruit come together in an inviting aroma. Lively effervescence and a dry acidity result in a clean and refreshing mouthfeel. There is a tinge of sourness that offsets a light honey sweetness, followed by a hint of spicy bitterness. Finishes with a well balnced dryness.

Pours looking like apple juice but a bit cloudy. Strong smell and taste with a hit of fruit. The taste of alcohol is reasonably strong but not enough to bother me. Overall a decent beer.

(Bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) A little hot but pretty good...Pours cloudy, slightly pinkish orange with a fairly small off-white head that recedes to a thin covering in middle and along edges. Aroma is yeast, citrus, glue and fruit. Mouthfeel quite smooth, medium-full. Low carbonation. Flavor is yeasty with a little fruit but a little too hot throughout. Decent - maybe some cellaring would mellow it a bit.

Had many times, now the most recent sample has inspired me to rate it. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a minimal white head. Aroma is of fruit and yeast. Flavor is mainly of fruit pear, slight apple with some spice, yeast and slight alcohol on the finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold, thin white head. Aroma is funky and musty like blue cheese and old wood, with slight hints of fruit. Flavor is fruity, funky and musty, with a nice wheat aftertaste. The flavor isn’t as complex as other tripels, but nonetheless this is very drinkable.

One of my favorite breweries. This is very good with a hint of sweetness. The alcohol comes threw as it warms. A little bit of fruitiness. Try their stouts if you can.
