| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Single 12 oz. bottle for $2.00 from From The Vine in Lewis Center, OH; served from a tulip glass. Pours an orangish straw color with a medium-sized, white, fizzy head; head quickly diminished into a small ring; light lacing; a singly, tiny column of energetic bubbles ascend from the very center of the glass’s bottom. Aroma fairly week but offers banana and cloves and yeast. Flavor somewhat sharply sweet, with yeast, cloves, bread, and grass; the 9.3% abv shows, but barely. Feels full-bodied and smooth; could be described as silky if not for the surprisingly high level of carbonation. Underrated. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 4, 2006 This one is a miss by Weyerbacher will off the mark. Poure light amber color with 0 head and no lacing. Aroma was very weak, some citrus and apricot. Glavor was sticky citrus sugary. Very unbalanced, way sweet with nothing to tone it down. bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Pours a yeasty-hazed dirt straw into the glass, with a decently frothy head that leaves a ring white-cap retention down the glass. The nose contains yeast, perm solution, sourmash and earthy melon notes. Very sweet flavors to the tongue... I pick up lots of melon and honey, dehydrated fruits (e.g. raisins), and confectioner’s candies (almost airy). There is a tiny burn to the finish, but well-integrated, as the ABV on this is a bit higher than the norm. The mouthfeel is light, almost honey melon-like. Decent overall, but it feels a bit unilateral and sugary... in an airy confectioner’s way, not as a result of complexities at work. The yeast here holds on a bit long, in my opinion. Maybe I should’ve let this sit awhile longer, as the beer isn’t particularly "dry" (per commercial description). I’m sure my take would be different if that were the case. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2006 Bottle. Poured a white fizzy head that quickly dissipated with sparse lacing, transparent, no visible carbonation, and a straw yellow hue. Sweet, honey, fruity, alcohol, spicy notes, and just a small hint of clove. Flavor was sweet, fruity, vinuous, bitter, and dry. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium body. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2006 This selection has a standard malty taste in the sense that it is sweet. Pleasantly spicy as it strikes the tongue. Pours a golden-amber hue and has a nice frothy head. Alcohol content is slamming. A good beer for the late summer-early fall. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Quite yeasty and estery, with a definite citric acidity, and warming alcohol finish. So in many ways this is a typical tripel, but this seem sweeter and more raw than some of the other Belgian examples.
