They all taste the same. This one has some lively carbonation. Great golden color with lots of fruity, yeasty aroma and flavor. I don’t really know what else to say. It’s a decent beer. I’ll keep trying these Belgium beers when I can. Maybe if I had that Westy 12, I would understand. Thanks Jason. blueduk (118), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Hazy light-orange with a fizzy receding head. Flowery hop and belgian yeast aromas. Classic orange and clove. Nicely carbonated with some alcohol and green grapes. A little caramel flavor sneaks into the well-balanced medium palate. The ale finishes long and hoppy. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Classic yellow color with a smallish head that didn’t last very long. Aromas were crisp and fruity. Flavor was very classic triple. Some acohol, but it wasn’t over done. Fruity flavors in there too. Pretty decent. ehhdayton (1113), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 14, 2006 The aroma is of berries and a sour quality. The color is golden with a white head. A berry like flavor is initially noticed and quickly followed up with a tart sourness. There is a light background of hops. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Pours a golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is sweet of bananas, lemon, and yeast. Flavor starts of mild with spices and bananas then gives way to a finish that is a little tart and some alcohol warming. Flavor was much better then the aroma suggested. A decent Triple. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Bottle. My guess is that it’s a 2004 bottle. For a bottle conditioned beer, this is pretty clear. It does have a decent head to begin, but it fades to a Budweiser looking collection of bubbles after a few minutes. Nice aroma. Alcoholic banana is the most noticeable, but there’s an authentic Belgian yeast in the nose as well as some muted, peppery spices. Very dry and astringent in the mouth. VERY dry and astringent. Almost vodka like. Banana, citrus and yeast also show up, but the vodka kicks their asses. Maybe my tastebuds are going numb, but it smoothes out a tad as it warms, and gains a small sweetness. Still, too alcoholic for me. At least the monks on the label are having a good time ... well, except for that poor brother, puking in the fireplace. Ah, good times at the monastery.
