| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 31, 2006 Honey, flowers, malt, and a touch of sour hay in the nose. Not much of a head to speak of and a honey colored body. Slightly tart with touches of sour chardonnay, candi sugar, flowers, and honey. Sharp mouthfeel is not overwhelming and goes well with the malty caramel finish. Nate (2569), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2006 Aroma is sweet and fruity. Sugar-coated lemon drops, mild muskiness and huge bubblegum esters. Light dry hops. Golden amber hazy beer, with a warm glow to it and thin white foamy lacing head. Medium watery body with medium-high carbonation and some alcohol warming. Starts sweet with sugary bubblegum and light grainy malts. Estery and fruity with honey and lemon, Belgian tripel traits, sweet and musky. A bit of vaporous alcohol and mild tang at the finish. Nice tripel. kingfiogojr (78), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Pours caramel colored. A very strong beer. Sampled a bottle from N. Charles Liquors, Baltimore. Has a very mellow and smooth fruity quality to it. Definite flavor of alcohol, but seems to lack any complexity from minimal spices.
Overall it’s pretty good. Very potent too. Contra (30), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2006 A rather nice twist on a Belgian Trippel. Nice carbination and mouthfeel. Flavor is sweet, with a quasi pear/grape quality to it. Excellent overall, and I’d get it again. I can see why they named this beer "Merry Monks". RyanTHC (38), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 7, 2006 Extremely fruity and sugary. Also extremely potent. The label says it all. <<<<,,
Anyway, what they say is true the longer it sits on your shelf the dryer it gets but I dont necessarily recommend waiting around. Not very thick.
I found myself liking this belgian very much, but I think that may just be personal. To say the least, it’s worth trying. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Updated: Mar 5, 200612 oz Bottle (courtesy of Kramer17801): Holy pears and green apples batman! All I really smell and taste is green apples and pears. Its a great flavored beer. Nice yellowish-golden color with loads of carbonations and a nice fluffy bubbly head that lasts and lasts. I thouroughly enjoy it. It isn’t a ’true/typical’ tripel taste to me, but I loved it. Boutip (2402), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Bottle : Poured a shiny yellow color ale with a medium white foamy head with great retention. Aroma is quite sweet but I could not find any trace of yeast. Taste is also very candy-like sweet with a thinner body then expected. Seems like this was filtered and it is a shame because it leaves the beer a bit one-dimensional. So overall, not a bad beer but definitely lacking complexity. harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA
