Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

This beer pours a nice dark yellow ochre with a nice sized white fine foam head. Nice banana aroma. It offers a full flavor that matures well, then backs off and leaves a nice sweet aftertaste. Also, it is well carbonated, with nice bubbles running up the glass from start to finish. An excellent beer, worth trying.

Decent version of an abbey tripel. Very light color, slightly sweet. Doesn’t taste nearly strong as it is. Very little aroma.

Has the nose of some Belgian triples I have had but the style is a mix of lambic with a triple tart and sour.

Murky orange with no head or carbonation, the flavor was fruity and tart but confusing. I wouldn’t turn one down, but its still a lesser tripel in my opinion.

From bottle. Orange hue with a small white head. Nose is yeasty and fruity, orange-apricot. Flavor is somewhat tart, more fruits - apricot, orange, nectarine. Finish is tart, a bit sour, clean. Leaves a slight sweet apricot flavor. Nice.

This Belgian Triple pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange, banana, yeast and sweet. A medium bodied Belgian Style Triple. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of orange peel, apricot and peach favors. The sweetness is balanced somewhat by a slightly hoppy dry finish. Very smooth taste, Nice balance. Good carbonation. Hides the alcohol very well. This beer does seem to be missing that “Belgian” quality, but its still a solid beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
