Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

Source: 12 oz bottle purchased from Anderson’s in Toledo.
Glass: Poured into a plastic hotel cup.
Appearance: Poured a hazy gold color with a two finger white head.
Aroma: Candi sugar, spices and sweet malt.
Flavor: Sweet malt backbone with spices and candi sugar. A grassy finish.
Palate: Medium body with solid carbonation and a heavy mouthfeel.
Overall: Not bad, but there was just something off about the combination of flavors.

Pours golden orange with a light fluffy white head. Aroma is very grassy and spicy. Some big clove and citrus characters ride behind a nice malty base. Flavor starts with a big spice kick that immediately hits the tongue. Lots of Belgian yeasties and clove/banana. Gains a nice malt creaminess but stays mellow in the finish, just giving a hint of bitterness along with some bubble gum. Medium body and a strong active carbonation. Not bad, very average in most ways but very refreshing considering the abv.

Rocky, fizzy head. Tart, floral aroma. Very interesting flavor. Wheat, malt, a little spice, Belgian yeast. It is sweet and aromatic without being syrupy. Surprisingly potent. A very fine brew.

Golden yellow, not much head. Fruity/spicy aroma, very sweet flavor. Some spices, banana and other sweet fruits, can taste the alcohol. Strong sweetness is just shy of cloying. Interesting to try, but not one I’d revisit too often.

Bottle. Poured a hazy pale with an off-white head that left light lace. Aromas of banana, wheat, and spices. The flavor found wheat, clove, and a light floral. Light to medium body, sweet spicy aftertaste.

Sweet, tart, yeasty. Nice beer, not as loaded as most Weyerbacher but has high ABV which it hides well

The aroma wasnt too impressive, which seemed a little bit shocking considering the fact that the appearance is very easy on the eye. Very nice gold/blonde color, with a nice white foam head. The alcohol was a little too over powering. The first taste made my cheeks almost pucker a little. Sip slowly.

Overall Impression: Add this to the list of Weyerbachers I haven’t had in quite some time. A re-rating is really needed here, but for now I’ll use the score I have from a few years back that had no notes with it.
