Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

I like esters, but this was way too banana like for me. It was uber-sweet and cloying. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very drinkable... too sweet.

Pours hazy golden orange color with white head. Fruity, yeasty and spicy aroma. Sweet fruity flavor. Belgian yeast and some spices also. Medium body with tingly carbonation.

Straw color. Light, spicy and fruity smell. Clean flavor.....didn’t know it was a tripel till I rated it, but it was the first style that came to mind when I drank it.

Bottled. Sweet scented, with bubblegum, mint, and green apple. Sweet and a bit sour, lemon meringue pie?!? Alcohol warming at the end, with a very sweet dessert clinging finish.

Aroma is sweet and some spice. Ages nicely, good to see how the flavor changes. A little hint of sweet tart flavor comes through over time. Spices mellow. Not too boozey.

Hazy golden orange, tight, small bubbles in the head and decent lacing. Somewhat tart fruit aromas. Fruit flavors are both sweet and tart, and are accompanied by an earthy yeastiness, some nuttiness and spices. Very complex. Medium body, good carbonation, and the seet/tart fruitiness lingers.

Poured from the bottle to a cloudy pale yellow with some carbonation and loaded with suspended yeast. Nose was very heavily bread, apples and hops, with alcohol joining in at mid-glass. Mouthfeel was fairly thich and chewy, and the flavor mimicked the breadiness fruit of the nose. Surprisingly, the finish was fairly light and pleasant. Not a bad beer.

Pours a cloudy light coppery color with a quickly descending head that nevertheless leaves lacing. Strong banana and spice aroma to it. Really heavy on the fruitiness, especially on the banana flavors. Hasa dry beginning to the taste. It is really creamy for a tripel. Minimally carbonated... the way I like it. Taste is not overly complex, but alcohol is covered well.
