Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

12oz bottle. Pours a semi-cloudy gold with a HUGE white billowy head that lasts a long time, a leaves a nice lace as it dissipates. Velvety mouthfeel inspite of all of those bubbles. Honey, fruit, malt and a bit of citrus. Alcohol in back, no doubt. Good stuff.

Single from Total Wine. Hazy bright gold beer with a small white head that is quickly gone. Aroma of banana and light citrus with yeast, and maybe some funky pear. Flavor is some odd combination of Belgian Tripel and German Hefeweizen , as is the aroma. I’m a big fan of triples, and while I like this one, I don’t think its in the mainstream of the style. A good bit of yeast flavor covers the booze, but also gives it that hefe character. I’m also a big fan of German Hefes’s but I prefer there to be a clear distinction between the two. Has a somewhat creamy, medium-full body. Fairly enjoyable drink, but not what I consider to be one of the top examples of Tripels.

Hazy bight gold with lots off fast moving carbonation. A huge off white head is very dense in my glass. The aroma has some funky pears and cinnamon. There is a nice pleasing old cellar candi sugar note. The taste has some strong leathery funk notes with that candi sugar. There is also some pear core and cinnamon. Highly carbonated and heavy in the mouth. Decent, but only for those that want a funky sweet tripel with a thick body.

Pours either a translucent gold, or, if u cause a commotion, a cloudy golden colour. Excellent white head, retains well in the tulip. Yeasty and citric aroma. Taste is smooth, chewy, yeasty, with pleasant bouquets, peach nectar, citrus, and a slight sourness. It’s very enjoyable and I am glad that more of the micro-ameros are making beyond the use and the hop’d.

From a bottle purchased in 2005 or 2006. Sits a maple sugar reddish-brown. Transparent. The aroma is very fruity. It ignites with pineapples, peaches, almonds, vanilla and banana. Flavour has wisps of peaches and almonds. There is a sour tang over a bitter, yeasty base. Alcohol is evident. The aftertaste is a lasting sour tang. My mouth stays slippery, although it threatens to dry out. An imperfect flavour matched with a mouthwatering aroma. This is the most I have enjoyed a beer within my recent memory.

Poured a golden/orange color with a very nice white head that lasts and lasts. Strong yeasty aroma with a bright citrus smell, mostly oranges. Similar flavors, but less intense. The alcohol tingles the tongue and the back of the throat in a very nice way. This is a really nice beer. Where is the love?
