Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Belgian Triple.
At Weyerbacher we've recreated a Belgian Trippel without limitation. We use premium Pilsener malts, candi-sugar, and yeast strains- all imported from Belgium. To be true to the style, our Trippel is bottle conditioned. This means we add a bit of candi-sugar and yeast just prior to bottling. This imparts a special effervescence to the beer, a creamier carbonation, and also extends the shelf life. The on-going fermentation inside the bottle will change the character of the beer as it ages, and you'll find it becomes dryer with age. You may want to lay down a few bottles for future evaluation. We suggest storing at cellar temperatures -around 55 degrees F- and away from light.

From a bottle purchased in 2005 or 2006. Sits a maple sugar reddish-brown. Transparent. The aroma is very fruity. It ignites with pineapples, peaches, almonds, vanilla and banana. Flavour has wisps of peaches and almonds. There is a sour tang over a bitter, yeasty base. Alcohol is evident. The aftertaste is a lasting sour tang. My mouth stays slippery, although it threatens to dry out. An imperfect flavour matched with a mouthwatering aroma. This is the most I have enjoyed a beer within my recent memory.

Poured a golden/orange color with a very nice white head that lasts and lasts. Strong yeasty aroma with a bright citrus smell, mostly oranges. Similar flavors, but less intense. The alcohol tingles the tongue and the back of the throat in a very nice way. This is a really nice beer. Where is the love?

750ml bottle acquired from Swolf3, thanks Steven. Kind of a gold/orange pour, had a glow too it. Sweet yeasty, bready aroma too it, quite nice. Sweet flavor as well, slightly acidic, very nice finish.

Ah, nice sweet yeast aroma. Holy s%^t this beer has a wonderful yeast aroma. Very pungent and sweet. I love the aroma. Nice dense haze color that is great to look at. This beer has a nice tight head sitting on top that hasn’t faded away. Nice yeast taste. This has an extremely strong yeast taste. This beer is very good, and I don’t understand why there is such a low score. Nice smooth palate. Just a very good sweet/fruity and stong yeast tasting beer.

Draft at Oldsmar Tap House. I have had this beer several times, so I was suggesting this to many people at the bar who were looking for direction. Had lots of positive feedback for the beer, and a lot of very drunk people. Pour is golden with creamy white head. Aroma dominated by belgian yeast and fruity esters. Flavor is again belgian yeast with very prominent candy/sugary character. Mouthfeel is decent. Very slight astringency in the finish, but this is a very dangerous beer. Not much hint of 9.3%. I really like this one, and think it is somewhat underrated.

Sample at the tasting at From the Vine on 1.30.09. Cloudy golden orange pour with a white head. Yeasty and vinegary aroma with some malt and fruit. Sweet and fruity flavor up front with a tad bit of hop on the finish. Yeast dominates the flavor throughout.

Bottle. Moderate aromas of grain for the malt, perfume and lime for the hops, barnyard for the yeast, with hints of pear, white wine and clove. Head is frothy/fizzy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, and finishes lightly sweet and acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a fizzy carbonation. Perfect balance in aroma and flavor that match the style nicely. A very good Tripel, I drank this way too fast.
