MAP (894), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Oct 6, 2008 Look is hazy cider-ish orange with a creamy head. Aroma is very fruity. Light banana, lemon and green apple notes. A considerable grassy/yeasty notes carries on through to the flavor. Very smooth, soft, sweet and slightly banana-y flavor tat ends with a green apple crisp finish. Another solid offering from Weyerbacher, and pretty damn enjoyable for a style (saison) that I do not usually seek out. Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 5, 2008 Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is dusty hoppy with lighter notes of fruit and lactic acid. The flavor is sweet with notes of dusty hops and fruity notes of peaches and oranges. The body is thin. mephisto (1125), Taiwan Oct 1, 2008 not my favorite rendition of saison, pours cloudy yello with white head, it has cheese aroma and flavor with notes of spice and flower, finishes bitter. JPDIPSO (4267), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Sep 29, 2008 True amber color, that gets a bit darker with each pour addition. A smallish, but stable off-white head. Dry, light toasted malt, hint of attic and light fruit in the aroma.Fairly thin, without inciting much from the scent. Lightly toasted malt flavors mix with a sweet herbal taste. Some grass and hopsack, bits of granary, apple peel and attic also mingle in. This is not fair well as a cold brew. The flavors are really starting to come out as it warms. Mixes of wheat and light fruit, including figs and currants. Malt flavors gain some depth. The acidity does seem to be a bit high and distracts. The more I set with this one the more I like it. jefcon (848), Arlington, Virginia, USA Sep 21, 2008 Dusky gold in the glass with a diminishing head. Aromas of light grain and citrus. Some spicing, not overly much. Dry finish with bigger fruit and an uneven palate. The yeasting lends an impressive amount of spicing, but the sharpness is tangy and unidentifiable.
