Commercial Description:
Our latest creation, MUSE, is a Farmhouse Ale with a distinctive Weyerbacher signature. Farmhouse Ales, by tradition, were used as restoratives for workers during the warmer months under the hot midday sun. Typically made with barley, sometimes wheat and oats as well, a Farmhouse Ale could be light golden to amber in color, but always with a dry, slightly tart finish, thus being a great thirst quencher.
Weyerbacher MUSE is light amber in color, brewed with barley and a healthy dose of raw wheat and raw oats as per tradition, to give it a mouthfeel that’s both silky and light at the same time. The wheat and oats add a bit of cloudiness to the beer as well, so don’t be afraid, sometimes cloudy is good! A very special Belgian yeast strain was used to ferment this particular brew, and it was done at downright “hot” temperatures, 78 F, in order for the yeast to develop its spicy profile that is expected for a Farmhouse Ale. No spices were added to this brew, its all from the yeast.
MUSE is hopped with Styrian Goldings for bitter, and Saaz for aroma, both just adding even more to the dryness of the brew. Putting it all together, you have a slightly spicy palate, with pleasant aromas and very dry, mildly bitter finish. At 6.2%, you’ll want another one so you can ponder this intriguing taste profile, and you may find yourself wondering why you haven’t explored Farmhouse Ales before!

22 oz bomber. Okay maybe my buzz was kicking in a bit but man I loved this beer. Poured a honey/amber color with a smallish creamy white head. Aroma was lightly hoppy with floral, citrus, grass and wheat. Flavor really turned it on with floral notes followed by a nice lemony finish. Will definintely be buying this one again.

Style and Glass: Saison, Tulip; flute ABV, Volume & Calories: 6.2 % in 22 fl oz. estimated at 300 C Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $1.66 Aroma: nice, flowery, wheat, rice, hay, dust, mold, field, grass. Visuals: wacky label, sunset at harvest, pale, orange, brilliant at first pour, hazy after, wispy head stays, loose lace. Taste: unbalanced, corn, barley, rice, little hops, subtle, delicious. Palate: silky, smooth, tea, light, crisp finish. Overall: A very nice light saison. I’ve had it a few times now, and I enjoy it. I prefer stronger brews, but this is a nice, lighter session brew. Unbelievable value for the price.

Opaque orange with a thick, rocky head. Very dusty, rustic nose, lightly fecal, peppery, saaz/styrian and lots of pale malt. Spicy, herbal, peppery body with a bit of a stiff alcohol signature. Slightly floral. Full body. Complex, meaty, yet refreshing. Old-timey.

Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits - 22 oz bomber. Pours a delightful murky deep orange with a soft, pillowy, sticky white head. Delicate yeasty aroma with just a hint of lemon. Flavor is thirst quenching and delicious. Pick up some peaches, butter, lemon, yeasty back end, hints of cookie dough. Thick, smooth mouthfeel, Quickly becoming one of my favorite styles - and a definite winner from one of my new favorite brewers.

Draft - Weyerbacher (Fresh Batch). Gold, creamy white head. Spicy fruit-like aromas warm to hints of peppered bread. Earthy fruit cream flavors balance on nutty wheat and pepper-like tones. Medium bodied, medium carbonation , light fruity finish. Always passed this up due to the low scores, but now will seek this batch out for those summer grilling days and nights. Refreshing and summery...

Pours gold with a white ead. Smells of flowers, hay, dry malt. Tastes dry and lightly perfumy and spicy with a grasy finish. Enjoyable.

Bought this in Florida for $5.69 at 22 ounces. Attractive labeling, with a semi-pleasing pour. Head is nice, almost milky foam yet retains some bubbling. I am not a fan of beers with large bubbling, seeming slightly over-carbonated. Aroma is nice and wheaty, with a dominance of alcohol. The aroma also has a bite of grassy hops in the beginning, with a finish of sweetness. The look of the beer is somewhat akin to an unfiltered wheat. The taste comes carbonated on the tongue, progressing into sweetness topped with hops, and finally maturing to an alcohol infused malted, slightly bitter finish. Overall, a decent brew. Not a flagship beer, but should be at least in the 70th percentile, not 46.

Awesome American Farmhouse-style ale. Dry and sweet....fruity and mellow. A great beer that could rival Belgian/French classics...nice malty finish too. Weyerbacher comes correct again.
