Dec 27, 2008 This poured black in color with a fluffy light brown head of very fine bubbles that retained for quite some time. The aromas were of cotton candy, chocolate and confectionary sweets. In the mouth it was medium to full-bodied, smooth and concentrated with little carbonation. The flavors were sweet and nothing like a Stout. It was candied and sugary without much else going on.

Dec 21, 2008 Bottle: Jet black with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate and alcohol. Flavors of chocolate, malts and nuts. This is one of those stouts that i really enjoyed and thought was a quality brew, but don’t have much to say about it.

Dec 20, 2008 12oz bottle purchased in Fl. Dark syrup pour with minimal head. Sweet malty-molasses nose and sip. Smoky and hearty oatmeal body. Robust but simply is not in the league of other imperials. too slick and sour, hop balance is odd.

Dec 14, 2008 Pours out black with little head. Taste is sweet and malty also roasty. Notes of chocoolate and coffe. Nice, but very thin Imperial stout. Drinkable with no alcohol taste, dry finish. Good for a six-pack brew.

Dec 6, 2008 12oz bottle from a trade a ways back. poured side by side with Heresy, the bourbon barreled version of this very beer.... pours pretty close to black with a thin wispy brown head that clings towards the sides of the glass.... aroma are of the usualy chocolate malt with a decent burnt roast componenet to it... flavors of chocolate, less roast, and def. shades of fruitiness and maybe just a tad of a sour bitter roasty finish. medium carbonation and body. could have been more full and sweet but this is generally pretty good.

Dec 4, 2008 Six pack from Total Wine, $9.99. Very dark, almost black pour with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and sweet dark malts. Flavor is silky smooth with chocolate and coffee and molasses.. Not much roastiness or bitterness, but good medium body and assertive flavors. Very drinkable and alcohol is hardly noticeable. Excellent Imperial Stout.

Dec 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Dark black pour with a dark chocolate head. Huge dark malty aroma, lots of dark fruits, roasty. Rich, bold flavor, quite eay to drink as well. Pretty darn good brew.
