Black cherry chocolate malt. It is not too strong at the beginning or too weak at the end. The aroma hits the nose outside the glass. oily. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Pours pitch black with a creamy chocolate head. Dark, rich malty aroma with vinous, chocolate, espresso, and caramel notes. The taste is very strong on the chocolate and roasted malts, without being overbearingly burnt tasting. Espresso, cocoa, and dark fruit background. Long, roasty finish. The mouthfeel is full, rich, slick, and oily. You know you’re drinking a stout with this beast. ogglethorp (888), Ohio, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. Pour is black, oily, and thick with a nice two finger head that is burnt umber in color and has good staying power. Leaves some small lacing in the glass. Aroma is huge! Filled with chocolate, hops, malt, coffee, and a bit of alcohol. Taste is warm, with a complex ballet of chocolate, malt, and coffee dancing with one another. And then it falls off into a tart hop filled dark chocolate second act that reminds me of hand made truffles. An excellent imperial that I would recommend to anyone that loves a good stout. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
