pours dark with barely any foam. smells sweet and dried fruits. taste like coffee, choco, and slight hops. good abv - well hidden.

Dark brown with a fizzy brown head. Chcolate and fruit aroma. Tangy chocolate taste with a mild fruity finish.

Rich and chocolaty. Small amount of head on a dark body. Weyerbacher usually has a reputation for doing extreme things, but this isn’t really extreme by Imperial Stout standards. Then again, I am slowly growing away from the style as there seems to be very little variation between the examples I have tried. Now, do not let it be said that Chapel doesn’t like this beer, it is very good, however it isn’t unique in the style.

Pours a very dark brown with ruby highlights, and a quickly receding thin tannish head. Nose is like a chocolate malt shake, sweet and decadent, with perhaps a shade of darker raisiny fruit and some oatmeal cookie malt body. A little thin but smooth on the palate, with strong smoky tones, a little like worcestershire sauce, perhaps some tobacco, very slight minty hop presence commingling with the roasted coffee bean and vanilla finish. Not a bad stout, but not a really great one.

Bottle. Pours black, with medium tan head--quick dispersion, but nice lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, some cream, raisin. Flavor is very malty, sweet--some sugar, chocolate much more than coffee, and a little mix of dark fruits. Dry finish, with a bitterness coming some from roasted malts, but also from a grassy hop aftertaste. Can’t really taste the alcohol. Very pleasant beer!!!

Solid, it got the rich malts with coffee and cocoa flavors. not to oily on the palate but it has the substance that you want.

The aroma has chocolate, toasted malt, coffee, vanilla, and nuts. The appearance is black with a small brown head. The flavor is like the aroma and slightly bitter. The palate is smooth. Overall a good stout.

12 oz bottle I’ve been holding onto for a few months now. Darkest of brown appearing black with a thin coating of brown foam. Huge sweet malty scents with vanilla, raisin, chocolate, some espresso notes. Some alcohol creeps in as it warms more. Big and malty taste, but not rich like I expect from an Impy. Sweet raisins and slight fruity acidity up front finishes with more roastiness and dry cocoa flavors. A little more carbonation than I usually like in the style. Overall, a good easy-drinking Impy Stout that’s not too rich or strong in alcohol.
