Cinnamon ginger...more spiced aromas than the previous two(KBS/BCS). More caramel malts in the nose. While not bigger than the former, for me the aromas are more pleasant. Touch soy, touch dark chocolate, coffee and toast. Full bodied with a sticky palate and smooth alcohol malts. Smoother than the previous. No wood aging. Pleasant switch. Score is lower, but appreciation and drinkability is higher. Just not as big as the previous two. But I think I would much rather have this on a random occasion than the others. Very tasty Impy Though the score might not show it! elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Bottle from Footbalm - Thanks! Pours a dark brown/near black with a small tan head. Nose is intense with chocolate, coffee, and roast. Taste is consistent, but a bit light when compared to the aroma. Has a little bittersweet cocoa feel too. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Note: as of writing this, the bottle was purchased nearly one year ago.
Appearance: Pours a black body with a small brown head.
Smell: Aroma of dark chocolate with notes of vanilla and caramel and only a faint, faint bit of fruitiness and pine lurking beneath the maltiness.
Taste: A tasty, sweet mixture of high-percentage cocoa dark cocolate and crème de menthe, like a liquefied Andes mint. The finish is sweet and roasty, with a nice anise flavor lingering into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A delightful stout fresh and even moreso a year later. LinusStick (1851), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Beautiful black pour with a tan 1 finger head. Aroma of coffee and alcohol with a hint of chocolate. Taste was nice and bitter...coffee bitter with dark chocolate and a little roasted malt in the back. Nice thick mouthfeel with good carbonation. Nihon (240), Vernon, Connecticut, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Very, very nice! A well rounded Imperial stout offering with a distinctive front taste and relatively smooth aftertaste. Highlights of chocolate notes are there if focused on. Alcohol is blended well. Enjoyed from 12 oz. bottle that was aged slighltly under 1 year. Very nice indeed!
