Pours a dark black color with a small tan head that fades quickly to a thin film. The aroma is of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, anise, and ripe dark fruits. The flavor follows suit with the roasted coffee and chocolate up front followed by the ripe dark fruits and some bitterness on the back end. Not quite as roasty as I would have thought. Medium bodied and very smooth and easy to drink with a long, fruity finish. Pretty tasty stout.

Strong burnt aroma. This is an all around ok stout. very dry. burnt character. Nice stoutness that reaches all corners of the mouth. This is not a nutty warm-weather companion. I would suggest this one cold and in the night of winter.

12oz bottle. Jet black with a thin tan head that doesn’t last. Smooth, silky, roasty, smokey, toasty!!!

12oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a murkey dark brown to black with a massive tan creamy head that settles slowly and heavily laces the glass. Aroma is rich and roasty with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramel, ripe dark fruit. Flavor is roasted and malty with notes of milk chocolate, ripe dark fruit, toffee, coffee, vanilla, smoke, wood, hints of caramel and honey. Generally medium to full body with a pleasing malt finish.

12oz bottle via trade with LinusStick. Thanks much! Pours dark brown with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma of plums/dates, chocolate & coffee. Smooth & creamy mouthfeel. Tastes of roasted malt, chocolate and a touch of vanilla - all backed by a firm presence of hops.

Not great looking, but not bad. Slight chocolate head, but the head doesn’t stick around for long. There is a thin head around the diameter of the beer, but other than that it is decent looking. Black in color i.e. opaque. Weak chocolate smell. The aroma leans toward the chocolate aroma, but not too many nuances to this aroma. A bit on the thin side with the beer. Has that tone of coffee, malts, and chocolate with a hint of alcohol taste at the end. Overall, a weak imperial stout. Too watered down, the palate doesn’t carry the flavors, and the aroma is not that great either.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a small dark brown head that quickly fades away to a ring. Aroma is chocolate syrup, faint roasted malt and not much else when cold. As it warms it gets better, with the malt and chocolate balancing. Decent at this point. Taste has a weird sweetness to it, some out-of-place fake banana, and then chocolate syrup. The finish is the best part, with the chcolate showing through most. A little muddled and not the best though. Medium-thin mouthfeel, smooth and has a long chocolate finish. Overall it isn’t that bad, but it isn’t that good either. If it has the same variability that I have seen with the Heresy, then it is hard to get a feel from one bottle though. Strike 2 for Weyerbacher imperial stouts, which is a shame, because when Heresy is on it is fantastic.

Bottle from Total Wine Clearwater, Florida. Pours a deep black with big dark tan head. Nose of roast, dark fruit, and some earthy coffee. Flavor is lots of roast, ripe dark fruit, some coffee, but mostly the fruit and a slightly boozy quality come through. Finish is sweet ripe fruit and bitter chocolate tango. Interesting stout.
