Aroma is nice as it warms - some fruit, roast, chocolate, good RIS tar. Flavor is similar to the aroma, very nice and roasty. Moderate body for a RIS. Overall, rather nice.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Sweet aroma with a bit of citrus. Roasty and sweet, well-hopped too. Pretty sweet coffee flavor stands out. Easy finish. Fairly mellow for the style, not heavy or hard like some big stouts are, but still very tasty. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Dark brown, opaque black, very thick tight light tan meringue consistency head on top. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, coffee, some alcohol. Taste is chocolate, light roast, thin body, light alcohol is noticeable despite the relatively low ABV for an Imperial Stout. Unfortunately the looks are the best part. Bonster (112), Jersey Shore, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Very muted aroma, roasted malts peek through with a bit of dark chocolate. Tastes of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate, a bit of hop bitterness contrasts the mild sweetness nicely. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Black pour with mocha head. Coffe notes in the nose but aromas are a bit weak in this beer. Coffee and chocolate notes with roasted taste. Somewhat watery with a bitter (and not in the hop sense) aftertaste. Changed (167), Ithaca, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours black; little bit of red when held to the light. Brown head retained nicely. Nice lacing also. Pretty standard: coffee, chocolate, toasted malt. Good Imperial Stout, but nothing earth shattering here. reverendj (48), Brunswick, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Somewhat dismayed at what I thought would be a great brew. The aroma was weak with little of what I expect from a RIS. Very thin palate with some funky sour notes, dark fruit, and little of the espresso/dark malt sweetness that I have tried lately. The best I can offer is the hop bite that is here. This seems more like a porter than a stout. madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England
