Commercial Description:
Formerly Weyerbacher Imperial Stout.
Rich, velvety and deliciously complex, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout is a truly distinctive winter warmer. We use seven types of malt and two varieties of hops to bring forth this big brew. Quite robust and roasty on the palate, Weyerbacher Imperial Stout has a wonderfully fruity nose and a moderately dry finish. The taste is highly complex- perhaps you'll even discern notes of expresso or chocolate.

One of the best looking ales in a tulip glass with its’ thick, foamy, brown head and dark brown body. Aroma and taste of roasted coffee, chocolate, and caramel. I very nice stout from Weyerbacher.

12oz bottle. dark black pour with almost no head. Aroma of dark fruit, dark cherry/chocolate. Taste not as big as the aroma, light chocolate, bit of a dry finish with a slight alcohol hotness.

Bottle. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. The other raters are right; the aromas here are a little on the weak side--dark roasted malts and a little bitter chocolate. The flavor was pretty good though. It was more hoppy than most imperial stouts I’ve tried, with the malts, chocolate, and espresso coming though on the (unfortunately) short-lived palate. If you’re in the market for a widely-available imperial stout, you’d be better off with Great Divide’s Yeti. Old Heathen is acceptable, but doesn’t hold a candle to the Yeti.

Sweet aroma with a bit of citrus. Roasty and sweet, well-hopped too. Pretty sweet coffee flavor stands out. Easy finish. Fairly mellow for the style, not heavy or hard like some big stouts are, but still very tasty.

Dark brown, opaque black, very thick tight light tan meringue consistency head on top. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, coffee, some alcohol. Taste is chocolate, light roast, thin body, light alcohol is noticeable despite the relatively low ABV for an Imperial Stout. Unfortunately the looks are the best part.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Very muted aroma, roasted malts peek through with a bit of dark chocolate. Tastes of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate, a bit of hop bitterness contrasts the mild sweetness nicely.

Black pour with mocha head. Coffe notes in the nose but aromas are a bit weak in this beer. Coffee and chocolate notes with roasted taste. Somewhat watery with a bitter (and not in the hop sense) aftertaste.
