| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2006 Pours yellow with a lightly fizzy white head. The aroma has lots of bourbon and woodiness from the barrel aging along with some very sharp lemon. At this point I wondered what was supposed to be Belgium about this. Medium body with lots of sharpness and light carbonation. The taste is very tart with sharp lemon. There is some spiciness and oak. The finish is much of the same. This did not seem to have much in common with a tripel and didn’t seem very complex or interesting. It was good, but far from what I hoped. rjulian24 (18), USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2006 Extremely alcoholic barrell aged belgian style beer. Although it reminds me of a french Saison. Aroma is incredibly alcoholic and hot. It actually reminds me of a shot of Jack Daniels. Flavor is a strong belgium blonde, although not overpowering. The oak flavor actually seems a little understated. Again the tase reminds me of Jack Daniels or even worse Evan Williams. It is an interesting beer but I would not seek it out again. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 14, 2006 22 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy honey color with a thin white head very much like you’d see on top of a glass of Sprite, and disappearing about as quickly. Lively carbonation. The aroma is sweet with some woody notes. The flavor is what threw me on this beer. The oak kept making me think "Chardonnay", but this was nowhere neary as buttery or as rich. Sweet and a bit malty at the beginning, some bananas as well. The oak kicks in a few seconds later. My initial reaction to this beer was negative, however, it grew on me as I emptied the glass. I’m glad I tried it, but I won’t be back for more of this one. thehinge (247), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Tan pour with really weird carbonation. Looks like the carbonation flows from one spot at bottom of pint glass...hmmm.
Aroma is smokey, floral. Taste has hints of wood and fruit. Palate isn’t like anything I’ve tasted outside of a thick stout. Coats the tongue like a syrup. Very nice ale. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Poured hazy golden yellow with small white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity (plum) aroma. Medium-to-full bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and fruity (grape or pear) flavors. Some woody flavor. Finished with light malt fade. Smooth, rich and well-balanced. Definite alcohol warmth. Very tasty. aracauna (2424), Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2006 Pours a fairly clear amber with a smaller head than I was expecting after it tried to climb out of the bottle by itself. The aroma is spiced pears with a touch of wheat. The flavor verges on cloying sweetness. There’s a lot of vanilla from the wood and the bourbon is actually overpowering. I’m less than happy with this beer.
