Aroma is mostly bourbon and oak with just a hint of pineapple. Pineapple continues in the flavor but the bourbon dominates pretty much everything else. Not bad but not really what I look for in a beer. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA

Flavor is bready with strong notes of alochol - slightly bubbly. Others have compared to a cider which is fairly accurate. Lubiere (4551), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Light golden ale with no head. Light maple and acetone aroma. In mouth, maple and diacetyl, buttery mouthfeel, with strong alcohol. Not the best. 6-3-6-2-10
Golden ale with a thin white head. Rather sweet butterscotch aroma. Very sweet in mouth, buttery and cloying, nutty and no spices. Nope, didnt change for me. Bottle at BCTC 2006. 6-3-6-3-12 brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 13, 2005 Didn’t get a good rate on this as I apparently fell asleep while I was rating it. Oh well, it wasn’t worth getting again in my opinion so I’ll just give my general impressions. Pours lightly hazy with an onion peal color. Minimal head that dissipates quickly. I noted honey, malt, and minerals in the aroma. Also a bit spicy with some alcohol presence. Some belgian yeast notes. The flavor is not too bad, but nothing I’d seek out again. Spicy pepper, yeast presence and alcohol. Candy sugars. Syrupy mouth feel, if not a bit watery and thin. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2005 pours a cloudy blonde/light orange hue with a halo of a white head. aromas of candi sugar, a little belgian yeast, some banana, and some lemon a hint of vanilla and a little orange/citrus zest. Flavors of the same. THe oak has a beautful effect, and the typical triple efferevenscence isn’t there, which is a plus for me as it leads to a smoother more tasty brew. Flavors of butter, and a light hop bitterness, and a smooth finish that is rare in this style. Most americans can’t pull off a tripl, but I think that weyerbacher has. A very nice brew. Without trying the non- bA version, it will be tough to comment on the effect, but here goes. Pours a clear golden color, snice sized white head. Aroma is funky. Lots of lemon zest, vanilla, lots of buttered popcorn/barrel going on. Flavor is sweet, like a vanilla malt. Lots of vanilla and buttered popcorn barrel stuff going on. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2005 22 oz. bottle - thanks to slob for the trade on this one! Pours a gorgeous clear, light orange color with a small white head that diminishes mostly. Aroma is exquisite, buttery oak, citrus and floral notes dominate, with a mellow bourbon barrel richness. Flavor is unique, but seems a little unbalanced. Sweet rich citrus malts, with pronounced bourbon and oak flavors, tart and bitter in the finish. Medium to full body and easy carbonation. Nice treat - thanks Bert! NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Smells like it was aged in wine barrels and not bourbon. Very strong chardonay aroma...though bourbon notes are present as well. May be the soft fruit aromas mixing with the bourbon to give off that chardonay smell. Anyway...golden in color with almost no head. Flavor is like bourbon and tonic water. Having just had the Merry Monk’s Triple I know the base beer is below marginal so aging it in bourbon barrels hasn’t helped.

Weyerbacher does some amazing beers...this is not one of them.
