Bottle 22 oz
Pours pale gold, clear with average carbonation. Bright, large white head that left very nice lace behind.4+
Aroma of alcohol, malt with fruit notes i.e. tart apples. Vanila scent floats around as well.
Full bodied ale with smooth front, clean middle and dry alcoholic finish. Malty alcoholic strong Belgian. Perhaps pinch of hops would equalize the score?

2005 bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden with virtually no head; only a ring of large and small white bubbles around the edge (no lacing). Aroma is slightly spicy and oaky with some soft sweet fruity esters. Mmm...surprisingly flavorful on the first sip. Sweet but tangy with some orange and related citrus notes upfront followed by some softer esters, although they tend to get buried by the tang as the beer goes on. Little, if any, oaky character. Finishes dry, almost like a dry white wine. Also a bit yeasty in the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Alcohol well-hidden. An unusual Tripel; not bad and I’d like tol check back with this one every couple seasons.

A strangely light color beer, almost like a macro lager, huge pear apple alcohol aroma, little bit of bandaid, light fruity, sugary alcohol taste, pretty hard to detect any flavor from the barrel aging, a bit to sugary, but still a warm weather sipper

cloudy orange-yellow body with minimal white head..aroma of light bourbon/oak, very woody backbone with hints of lemon/citrus hops, light yeast, and spice...flavor of light bourbon, yeast, and soggy bread and biscuit (not appetizing)...

22oz bottle, hazy yellow gold hue, with a white head, but falling quickly, and leaving laces, with a multitude of particles of lees, swirling around, yeasty, spicy nose of vanilla oakiness, maple, with a faint but strange coconut accent, a sweet honeyish pale malt, with some fruity note of apples and pears, hint of spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, sweet honeyish pale malt character, a spicy vanilla-coconut accent, in an alcoholic warmth mouthfeel, with a bourbon oakiness,a touch of maple syrup, a bit fruity, of some sweet candid lemon peels fruitiness, leading towards a sweet pale malt and an alcoholic finish.

22 oz bottle purchased a while back at Chuck’s outside of Columbus. Split with devon, and our girlfriends. A nice round table critiquing followed. Interesting, odd, too much alcohol was the overall perception. Yellow clear color with a white head. Sour apples, sweet, grain, and phenols constitute the aroma. Sweet flavors, apple juice, alcohol, grain, bourbon, sour, heat in the throat. Katy said it was like salt water taffy, whatever it was definitely off, and strange for this light bodied beer to be put in a barrel.

Cloudy yellow-orange body, thin-medium off-white head. Aroma of sweet breads, caramel, cloves, and light fruits, burnt, with oak and sharp alcohol. The body begins with heavy, bready yeasts, later revealing a medley of fruits (primarily apple and pear), vanilla and oak. Then, a sudden turn to sour, rotten peach and band-aid phenols, a cruel twist that shocks the palate. Has all the complexity one could desire, but some of it is foul.

Not the most potent brew that I’ve had, but for some reason, it’s one of the quickest to warm the system. It pours a golden/amber body full of the swirlies and for a short while has a fizzy white head. The aroma is spicy and has light fruits and a soft floral bouquet. It tastes of pears and apples with a light malt, peppery spices, alcohol, oak, and a touch of wild funkiness. I never really picked up much Bourbon in nose or taste. Pretty decent ale.
