I’m kicking this one up 0.2. Deep gold pour with fizzy, rapidly dissipating head. Aroma of big oaky fruit, hopcit, candi sugar, bready malt. Tastes fruity, with candi sugar, hopcit, oak, bourbon. Medium palate with a lot of carbonation. Gets very chardonnayish and champagny as it finishes. Very complex, and at various times this one takes on characteristics of beer, chardonnay, champagne, and spirits. The fizzy pour reminds me of champagne. Delicious, and a true beauty. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA

While that is a mediocre tripel, I found this to be a much more complex and wonderful brew. Some smokiness sneaks in as does the bourbon notes. Some more complex fruity notes than in the original. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is sweet and tangy with ripe fruits and lemon and a mildly yeasty undertone. The flavor is tangy citrus with sweet light fruits and a noticeably woody element. The finish is woody and tangy. Lovely! harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA

Similar to Allagash Curieux. Hazy yellow amber with a fizzy white head. Sweet fruit and bourbon aroma. Nice mouthfeel, great grainy belgian taste with a wonderful bourbon flavor and a warm finish. Aroma is very aeromatic with bubblegum and plastic. Taste is vanilla, butter and orange which all go pretty nicely together. Very good now and I’m sure this will only get better, proving once again Weyerbacher kicks Victorys ass! Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. The aroma is pure bourbon. Full body with sweetish malts and then all these wonderful bourbon notes. What a weird idea to bourbon barrel a Tripel, but the end result is simply fantastic. Yum. 291206 beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA

Poured hazy golden yellow with small white head. Soft carbonation. Fruity (plum) aroma. Medium-to-full bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and fruity (grape or pear) flavors. Some woody flavor. Finished with light malt fade. Smooth, rich and well-balanced. Definite alcohol warmth. Very tasty.
