Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Pours nicely in to glass with a highly carbonated, reddish-orange w/ an off white head. Taste has an oaky, sweet, "hot" flavor. Alcohol present in the taste making the mouthfeel seem lighter than expected. Brew quaffs very easy and nice and finishes w/ and nice oaky finish. Need to let this brew age to balance the taste.

Bottle: Dark in color with a nose of dark caramel, raisin and plum. In the mouth this is full-bodied and supple with some tannic bite in the midpalate. The palate is rich with dark fruit but does show some of the alcohol as well.

pours a clear bright red color with slight white film on top. Aroma is alcohol and some cherry syrupy sweetness - yuck (too much like a cough syrup smell). Flavor is alcohol burn, slight toastiness, and some dry bitter finish. Overall, not enough balance with the alcohol. That presence dominates.

2 - 12 oz bottles - Good head, nice aroma. Light alcohol initial taste, then cotton candy, then banana, then cough syrup. Finish burns a bit, a little watery on the mouth feel. Almost no grain or malt flavor, zero hops flavor or aroma. I’m aging another bottle for 12 months and will try it again, would not purchase willingly again. ***Update*** Tried the 2nd bottle now almost a year later. No change. Couldn’t finish it and dumped. It actually may have gotten worse over time.

22 oz. bottle - thanks a bunch to gottalottaibu for the trade; clear, dark amber with thick cream colored head; sweet and fruity aromas; alcohol is obvious and texture is syrupy; on the rich side and a very sweet quad; flavors of candy; sweet fruit and a slight spice to it; slight burn and medium body; wish it was a little thicker and a little less sweet, but very nice overall
