hazy brown almost amber, not much head if any, nose is fruity boozy and some malt. flavor is a little light for a quad more a double ,with some barely wine thrown in, slightly oily but interesting

vintagecellar Copper brown with no head. caramel and fruit aroma and taste. Quite good.

Poured from a large-sized bottle into a trappist glass. The beer was a dull copper color with a foamy white head that had shorter retention; it was initally cloudy but became clearer. A complex, heavy fruit aroma with raisins and grapes, subtle caramel malt, and some citrus and pine hops for balance; a faint scent of alcohol too. The taste was sweet but heavy, a dense, concentrated fruity mixture, with some sour effects at the finish. The palate was a little bit rough, with a dry finish and a slightly biting alcohol sensation. It had a pretty dense body with light carbonation, and a full, clingy mouthfeel. The fact that it is reasonably priced, local, and quite drinkable for being so high in alcohol content are all significant pluses.

Bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Pours honey colored with no head and no lacing so speak of. Aroma of clove and banana. Don’t really know what to make of the taste. Has some of the standard abbey flavors, but so medicinal and alcoholic it’s almost like drinking tonic water. Still pleasant, but not something I’d buy a second time.

light copper hue topped with a thin layer of beige head, it has a intense aroma of clove, caramel, raisin, and chocolate. certainly a great infusion of many goodness. the flavor is also intense with myriad blends of fruits. very drinkable for its strenghth.

Bottle. Dark amber, surprisingly small head. Aroma was fairly rich, dark fruit malt, alcohol. A malty sweet and equally rich flavor, heavy caramel. Has an un-hidden alcohol taste. Flavor similar to well made authentic Belgian counterparts but falls short in complexity compared to some of these other examples. Very good malty flavor and adequate strength.

Draft at Barcarde. Pours a cloudy gold. Aroma of raisin and light caramel. Flavor is overly dominated by alcohol, which is unfortunate as it covers the light bits of raisin and fruit almost completely.

12oz bottle from trade with Beachbum25. This Abbey Quad pours a hazy golden amber with a reddish hue. Head was virtually non existent. Sweet nose of candied cherries, raisins, various dried fruits. Finish was sweet and made my mouth somewhat tingly. This beer left me wanting more. Thanks Beachbum25!!!!
