Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a clear dark orange color, with a minimal tan colored head. Aromas are of sugar, caramel, dried fruits. Flavors are of alcohol mostly. Burning, harsh, not well balanced. This is an old sample too. It did not age well, nor did it blend. Not a good example of a Quad, IMHO.

Oct. 2005 - Ehh...I don’t know what to think of this one. Not as bad as other American Belgian-wannabes, but not a Belgian authentic either. A little too sweet with candy sweetness. Alcohol taste also prevalent.

hazy orange, thin tan head, rich fruity malt aroma, rich malt flavor, lots of complex character, fruity, warming, light bitterness, after warming the earlier promise fails and the alcohol take over and it turns into a bitter alcoholic shot

Dark brown color with medium tan head and no lacing. Aroma was strong an rich, like flavor of good malts, some fruit, and sweetness. Small alcohol tingle and very delicious.

Deep ruby in colour, very clear, thin tan coloured head, some light lacing. The aroma is very candyish, some toffee and dark fruits, very rich, sweet, minor alcohol. The flavour is rich and chewy, alcohol is present but never irritating or overpowering, good toffee sweetness, plenty of figs, plums and raisins. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, mild carbonation. Finishes long with a good sweetness, nice and warming. A Weyerbacher beer that’s not over the top like the barrel aged series that they did. Warming and a sipper.

Sexy, strong and sensational. One of my favorite brews from one of my favorite breweries. Sweet tasting Belgian beauty finishes with a flourish. Very strong. Could only finish 4 small bottles... how perfect, a quad

12oz. Bottle: Medium sweet aroma. Vinous aroma smells of dark fruits, some piney hops, and alcohol. Poured copper/amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished instantly. Clear. Sparkling. Very sweet flavor. Tastes of alcohol, dark fruits, and something funky I cannot identify. Medium to full body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet finish. Overall, too damn sweet.

A nice rust pour, decent head. Sweet fruit dominates, with some yeast, and breadiness to it, the alcohol isn’t very noticeable, and it makes for an easy drink! Quite enjoyable. Received in mystery swap 2.0. Another good one from Weyerbacher.
