Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Bottle... Clear ruby hue. Small, off-white head with decent lacing. The aroma is of caramel, candy sugar, homemade soap, dates and white oak smoke. The flavor is all about malt, candy sugar and alcohol. The high ABV is well-disguised in the nose, but there’s no missing it in the flavor. Malty and sweetish up front; lightly pungent and bitter to balance things out on the backside.Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Long, alcoholic and tart finish. Sip this high ABV, Belgian Strong Ale slowly and live to drink another day.

Poured from bottle. We did a side by side tasting of this and the Blasphemy...Poured a light copper color. Carbonated. Smelled like sour apples. Taste was sweet up front, pears, apples, bananas, and sour at the end. This got better as it set out. Not bad, really...

Strong banana aroma. Dark golden color small head. Starts malty you think it might get sweet but turns to slight malt bitterness.

Pours a hazy dark amber with a small head and almost no lacing. The smell was dominated by raisins, and I tasted dried fruit, malt and some yeast. A decent quad, but doesn’t rise to the level of the giant Belgians.

Aroma: wort, apple, shirazlike, powerful, slightly sourish...yeasty...and almondlike tone beneath.
Appearance: orange brown, medium dark, dim yellowish little head that leaves little lacing but nice formations of thin foam...
Flavour: initial balance of raisin sweetness and malt bitterness. SOme hops and liquorice- & vanillalike sweetness in the aftertaste.
Palate: smooth, slightly slimy.

on tap at cobblestones, York PA: Aroma is spicy with some malty aroma coming through. poured dark amber/brown with good head retention. Flavor had way too much alcohol showing through and not enough deep malty and fruit flavors. The body was also pretty thin, so I think this beer needs a lot more malt thrown in. Over all a disappointing quad, but drinkable.

Ive had this one numerous times without rating it, so here goes. 12 oz bottle pours a clear golden honey color with a small white head. Aroma of pear, banana, apricot, malt and cotton candy. Taste is sugary malty with hints of banana and pears. Alcohol slightly detected but hardly noticeable for a 12 % abv. Not bad.

22 oz. bottle. Clear coper pour that supports a 3 finger light tan head settling to a thin layer in a few minutes. Fruity aroma of apricot, pear, and banana with some notes of yeast and alcohol as well. Medium body, dry palate, and light carbonation. Sugary sweetness up front, but some balancing spicy bitterness comes on quickly. Good enough, but lacks depth of aroma and flavor.
