Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Pours out a nice brown color with a very small head. I was expecting a bit more of a head than received. Aroma is as usual very yeasty and full of malts and sweetness. Flavor was very sweet. Couldnt really detect much else due to the sweetness. Over all not a bad redention of a quad, but certainly not the best.

This is my first quad style. 12 oz brown bottle, cost was $2.50 from the Beer Store in Moon. No head when you pour this into your clear mug. No apparent carbonation from the pour. The brew seems to be a little thick as it’s coming out of the bottle. The look of this beer is clear reddish brown. The smell is a little rotten when you first pop the cap but that fades into an aroma that warns you about the onslaught of alcohol, scary. The smell goes pleasantly sweet after a few moments of settling. The first taste impact of this brew is somewhat less offensive than I predicted, it is relatively smooth for such a high alky content. The alkynes is present but not as overwhelming as I was anticipating. Fruity high alcohol linger. The feel of this beer is smooth and silky. It is slick with no carbonation, goes down way too easy. Hey, wait, I think I feel some carbonation and there is some bubbles rising within the glass after a big swig. Overall I thought this would be more offensive than it was. I have tasted many other trippels and dubbels that were much less refined than this. Not bad for an exceptionally high percent alky brew. Be careful, you can get a DUI after one and a half of these.

Pours dark and murky amber forming little to no foam. Aroma is of fruity sugars and lovely malts. Flavor is of yummy malted berries and fruity nuts. Full bodied and smooth, highly impressionable beer.

Bottle. Aroma and appearance are kind of ho-hum. Pour is a slightly murky dark copper with a lot of bubbles and a thin head. Aromas are sweet, but not very complex or compelling. A bit of light fruit scents and some sweet malt. Flavor is much more interesting. From start to finish you pass through a gauntlet of malty sweetness, a fruity middle section (berries and candi sugar) and then finish with a smooth (and alcoholically warmed) flowery finish with a touch of a peppery spicing. Still, nothing that I would go crazy over, but a nice beer, nonetheless.

(Bottle) pours beautiful deep clear red. Rather vinous and full sweet malty aroma with tones of dried fruits, fruits, roses and cocktail berries. Light roasted with notes of chocolate. Syrupy and light caramelly. Small hints of hops. Very sweet, syrupy and light caramelly flavour with tones of candied fruits and dried fruits. Sugary and honey like with notes of flower nectar. Lingering sweet and sugary aftertaste. Medium to full body.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a murky golden brown with a moderate off white head that lasted through about half the glass. The aroma is decidedly sweet with notes of caramel, fresh pears, and rock candy. The flavor is also quite sweet with caramel, brown sugar, rock candy, and raisins all present. A bit too sweet for a Quad. A warming alcohol burn at the swallow. Syrupy, cloying mouthfeel. An interesting interpretation of the style that falls just a bit short.

12 oz. bottle via trade with jsquire and jasonmech77 - Pours a clear amber color with a one finger thick off white head. I was suprised to see how clear it was. Aroma is slightly vinous and banana. Flavor is sweet fruit, brown sugar, and light yeast. A smooth, medium to full body beer. A very nice beer. Thanks guys.
