Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Very little lacing and little to no head. The nose was slightly caramel, but not tempting. Smooth on the tongue though with little taste. Mediocre--been that kind of week ;0)

New bottle. Poured a clear copper with a large head. Head was mostly diminishing with little lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast and caramel malt. Taste was hot, with sweet raisins and caramel. Full bodied. Sticky and alcoholic texture. Needs age.

Bottle~ I have had this on tap before, dont remember much. This bottle poured a cloudy dark brown/orange color. The head started off nice but faded away quickly. Must remember to let this one sit and warm off a bit to get an initial smell, and tast to it. The aroma is close to yeast, a dry alcohol smell, oak, and a hint of scoth. This is a very complex stlye of beer and one of my personal favorites. The taste is thick, chewy, buttery, and spiced oaked. Dont really taste the alcohol much and the taste progresses to get richer and more noticable throughout.

In the bottle at the Brickskeller. Pours an orange-amber color with a small off-white head. Has a medicinal blend of pears and apples. Thick and rich in flavor. A strong alcohol burn grabs you, but while drinking this, I never would have guessed it was 12% ABV! A pleasant mouth-coating forms of fruity phenolics. The head dies really fast. Has a great bubble gum and candy taste. Fairy complex with bursts of these flavors. There’s such heat here that the tongue burns loudly. This is as close to Listerine as I think I’ve ever had in a beer. Midway through the glass, it becomes real drinkable. At this point, the abundant hops start to emerge and balance the sweetness. This is good stuff. I like the honey-sweet flavor toward the end. The final finish is bready and dough-like. What an ever-changing chamelion.

Poured a nutty brown with pink hues with a spitty off white head. Very unique aroma, like whiskey with vanilla, medicine and alcohol. Very strong flavor as you’d expect, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla to name a few. Oily in the mouth and long lasting flavor on the tongue. The alcohol hits the mouth with a finish of head and reddens the cheeks. Take this one slow.

Bottle. Copper colored, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, and slight bit of yeast. Flacor is very caramel and little yeasty fruit. Alcohol in flavor and aftertaste. Still, a little disappointing, not enough yeastiness, and too much caramel.

This beer is very very strong. Small head. I expected this beer to be a little less strong than it was. It was alright, but had an overpowerful alcohol flavor.

12 oz bottle via Dickinsonbeer(thanks!)...Pours a hazy amber with a tiny head. Nose is skotch alcohol and a little yeast. Hard to really taste anything through the alcohol.....just some butterscotch...sorry that’s the best desription i can give....don’t care for this as much as i had hoped. Most people seems to like it for some reason though..maybe my bottle was too old.
