Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Poured a nice amber-brown color with a small head. The aroma was spicey and malty. The flavor was a bit too sweet with some light caramel malts detectable, some spices (almost like an oktobefest class of spicing), and a sweet finish (some doughiness in there).

Dark red. Sweet smell with plenty of alcohol. Not much on Quads but this is good.

Bottle with perhaps the worst label I have ever seen on a beer. Its not the design..really...but its the position of the label, it was about to fall off the bottle. Alas, the contents are what is more important. Pours out a dark red color. Smells sweet, fruity, and full of alcohol (I can tell this one is going to be nice). Taste is smooth, and mellow for a beer with almost 12%. The smell is just fabulous, probably alot better than the taste. The alcohol makes this drink almost like a port. A very fine, and possibly underrated beer.

Bottle. Pours reddish chestnut brown with short-lived off-white head. Powerfully sweet, alcoholic aroma of sherry. Flavors are initially of candy with cherry and raisin notes, with decent alcoholic burn. Considerable sourness in the finish, though, along with yeasty notes. Sourness seems to be a product of the alcohol - again, like sherry. Probably would’ve benefited by easing off on the ABV.

Thanks to Springlicker(?) for this. Pours hazy brown with ruby red grapefruit color hints. Light carbonation. The aroma is malty with figs, yeast, spice (cinnamon and clove) and light alcohol. Flavor is initially spicy (clove and something else), a bit yeasty, strong alcohol comes out quickly, and there is a dark fruit hint (like date or fig). Not bad. Heavy, sticky body. I liked this more than other quads I’ve tried as I thought it was closer to a Belgian strong. Not as quad like as the others I’ve tried.

Sampled at 4th Boulder Strong Ale Fest. Beer poured a clear medium brown color with a small, frothy, off-white, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma was a bit shy: malty with light notes of cookie and caramel, moderate notes of toasted grain; hoppy with light notes of resin/pine; light-to-moderate yeast note of cellar; moderate miscellaneous notes of spicy alcohol, banana and clove, light notes of pepper and cardboard, trace note of tropical fruit. The flavor was heavily sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter with a long, lightly bittersweet finish. The body is medium-to-full, the texture was velvety, the carbonation was lively and there was a lightly alcoholic and moderately astringent feel.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours a hazy orange copper color with tan head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel malts, and spices. Flavor is butterscotch, sweet, caramel, and alcohol. My favorite weyerbacher brew.

Thin head, light clear tan body. Aroma is belgian malts. Taste is raisin, candi sugar, alcohol. Slight bittering hops. Hints of diacetyl but not bad at all. Body is slightly viscous, oily. Decent stuff.
