Thats what I like. Keeps a nice head. Good flavor that changes as it warms/ nice character. Good palate, but as one review said "it doesn’t finish well" which I agree with. Good quadrupel though. Great desert beer. Cheers! Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2006 cloudy orange looking, has a fruity aroma, kinda apple. Very sweet flavor, almost like a cider. candy aftertaste, smooth, pretty good. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Pours deep garnet with almost no head. Very sweet aroma, mostly candy sugar and raisin. Large alcohol presence in the nose, almost smells like a dark rum. The alcohol is there in the flavor, too, and doesn’t mix well with the other flavors until the aftertaste. The sweetness of the aroma and with some distinctive Belgian yeast notes clash with the alcohol until each begins to fade, leaving a pleasant aftertaste that reminds me of brandy or, again, dark rum. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2006 This is an excellent, high octane beer. Very obviously a strong beer, spicy, malty and sweet flavor. Definitely wouldn’t drink more than 1 of these in a night! entertheiceman (242), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2006 Cloudy brown with a thin tan head. Fruity, malty aroma with some alcohol. Flavor is like a liquor, a brandy of some sort with lots of alcohol. Wasn’t very satisfying. CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2006 Not too impressed...color was a light amber and there was a bit of pure white head. Aroma is sweet and strong with spirits/alcohol. The taste is some what sweet with raisins and has that belgain yeast/bread flavor...but there is some serious whisky/sherry flavors that are often present in big weyerbacher beers. It was a somewhat unpleasant beer to finish...and not quite a quadrupel if you ask me. beervana (781), Libertyville, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2006 (02.23.06) 12 oz brown bottle from trade with Thaichile. Hazy red amber Abbey-style quadruple having a small white head. Soft carbonation. Butterscotch and toffee in the nose. Medium-to-full bodied ale that starts with moderate malt sweetness and butterscotch/toffee/fruity (raisin?) flavors. Finishes with light malt fade. No perceptible hop flavor or bitterness. Smooth in the mouth. Definite alcohol warmth. This is an excellent Belgium-style beer, full of flavor and malty smooth. Thanks Thaichile! harmfuldrunk (288), New Jersey, USA
