Commercial Description:
Massively big and delicious, QUAD is an elegant and dark ale. Rich with complexity and flavor, try savoring it after a long day or during a fine dinner. You also might enjoy it as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a dessert, but QUAD stands alone quite well. We recommend enjoying QUAD in a brandy snifter or wineglass so you can drink in the aroma of this fine elixir.

Cloudy dark amber color with no head. The aroma is licorice, dark fruit, alcohol and candy sweetness. Light to medium body with a soft texture. Flavors are dominated by alocohol and black licroice. Okay beer, but lacking in any complexity.

12 oz bottle - Pours dark amber with a short white head that laces. Aroma is raisins, plums, some candylike sugar, yeast and a bit of spice. Flavor is sweet, notes of caramel, brown sugar, raisins, dates, and a bit of the alcohol on the finish. Palate is full bodied and very buttery in the mouth. Easy to drink for a beer of it’s size. Alcohol is actually hidden pretty well. Drinkable and decadant.. Not bad at all.

Huge White brownish head. Orange brown color. Smells cheesy (like Belgian Quads). Cognac malty palate in the front that grows slowly bitter as it goes back. Very bitter finish for a quad.

Murky brown color with no head. Strong aroma of sweet raisins and plums. Taste is dominated by sweet malt, sugary dates and raisins, and warm alcohol. A bit on the raw side with the alcohol, but very fine.

Bottled. Cloudy orange coloured with an off white head. Sweet aroma of alcohol and dried fruits. Sweet flavour of dried fruits, alcohol and spices. Too much alcohol fot my liking.

Poured an effervescent rubyish amber with a small fizzy off-white head. Aroma of vinous dark fruits, sugar, alcohol and a medicinal character. Taste is sweet and very dry... some raisin notes with a strong medicinal burn. Bubble gum in the aftertaste is somewhat unsettling... making it feel a little too sticky. Definitely one of Weyerbacher’s more complex offerings... but seems like somewhere along the line they got "beer" mixed up with "candy". Just not all that refined or drinkable. Pass the Westy, please.

Bottle, golden brown pour. Fruity malty aroma, with raisins and plums. Alcohol very present. Flavors of more of the fruit, maybe add some banana. More yeasty flavors, with alcohol still very upfront. Not much spice.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy chestnut colour with a tiny off-white head. Vinous port-like nose with lots of alcohol. Notes of dates and overripe fruit, but in general it’s not an overly complex beer. 011005
