BuckeyeSammy (360), New York City, New York, USA Jun 22, 2008 Tasting at JoeMcphee’s. Beige murky brown. The aroma of this one was absolutely bizarre.. no idea how to describe it, chemical? Flavor was sweet, malt, caramel, light fruits throughout.
jblendy (457), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 4, 2008 A bit like Aventinus, but lighter overall. One of the better Weyerbacher brews I’ve had. zebracakes (981), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours almost opaque chestnut brown, thin off white head.
Aroma is tangy and malty, some caramel and fruits scents, and is quite pleasant. Flavor is funky, earthy, malty, some yeastiness going on here too. This doesn’t taste as good as it smells, but it doesn’t sh*t the bed, if you know what I mean. golubj (990), Redwood City, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 Bottle shared at the CA-GA cultural beer exchange hosted by alexanderj. Brown with ruby red hints. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and yeast. Flavor is sort of sweet cramelt malt, a little roast and vanilla. Kinda cola-like. guzzler67 (1140), Hanover, Maryland, USA Sep 2, 2008 Opaque, red mahogany appearance with a fairly large, beige head. Sweet malt aroma with layers of caramel and a variety of fruit. Wheaty, yeasty, fruity taste, some spicyness, along with the typical weizen flavors of banana and, to a lesser extent, cloves. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Smooth, full-to-medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Long lasting finish. 00cobraR (950), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Sep 2, 2008 What a nice example. Pours a cloudy dark brown color with a nice tan head. Aroma is sweet with hints of clove, banana, and kind of malty. Flavor is very much the same. A very enjoyable example od a weizen bock. I certainly enjoyed this one.
