rkuhnel (1100), Eureka, California, USA Nov 21, 2006 Updated: May 13, 2007I feel an obligation to support the "local" brewers, and this one is close enough to be considered in my area. This was a 22 oz bottle and poured cloudy amber. Big head, and nose of hops. Quite dry mouthfeel, and hint of fruit. Slightly bitter. This brewer is trying but needs some work to make the big time. I cleaned out the local stock for a buck a bottle, so have some to trade if someone is desperate to trade for this one. What a treat to be one of only three raters and have the others be Oakes and omhper.
Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2006 Hazy amber. Hoppy aroma (kind of flowery) is also a little bit phenolic. It’s rather overcarbonated but I’m fishing out some flowery hop notes and a slightly lemony bitterness. Dry finish. omhper (10454), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 17, 2006 Bottled. Hazy golden, lively head. Peachy, grapefruity hop aroma with some notes of phenols & glue. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and livley carbonation. Lightly minerally with notes of ash and juicy hops. Balanced bitterness.
