ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 28, 2005 On draught at the brewpub, 5/21/2005 with Muzzlehatch. This golden ale appears a hazy copper-amber with a small white head receding to cover, low lacing. Light pale malt in the nose, some honey and almond croissant notes. Flavor shows some hops bitterness, not much hops flavor, with more lightly sweet malt, bit of toasted grains, ending with more sugary malt. Sweet dough, honey, mineral water. Medium body, some wateriness/thinning, moderate carbonation, peppery mouthfeel. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA May 26, 2005 Draught pint at the brewpub sampled with the Sultan of Sour, ClarkVV. Full head dies quickly atop the coppery-amber lightly hazy body...honey-sweet malty nose, very sweet body with a light touch of oregano, fairly crisp front decays into a sugary, syrupy finish...no hops to mention...not at all bad, but a disappointment after the first two interesting surprises (pale and porter). vw_steggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA Oct 26, 2003 Well it wasn't golden... It has an orange/amber color and a malted smell. Taste was pretty balanced, but nothing special. Overall an o.k. beer.
