biznizness (704), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA May 1, 2006 Enjoyed this. Definitely a little different, some good flavors in there.. probably not what you would expect. Liked the chewy caramel in there. I’d like to try this again. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA May 28, 2005 Draught at the brewpub, 5/21/2005 with Muzzlehatch. Good deep yellow color, nice and hazy, light fiery orange tints to it with a moderate amount of white head which recedes quickly to ring but leaves decent lacing. Aroma is sweaty hay, sugary pale malt, good extraction. Flavor, though the beer was served ice cold (I let it warm somewhat), was surprisingly, very Belgian. Light yeast, dry spices/herbs, farmy hops, no citrus or high bitterness, but still plenty of noble hops character. Fantastic full body, you can really sink your teeth in to this beer. Sweet, borderline caramelly malt is well-extracted. Delicious, what a find! muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA May 26, 2005 Draught pint at the brewpub sampled with the Sultan of Sour, ClarkVV. Thick, dark unfiltered ginger color, good lacing...pungent, spicy nose and body, yeasty and a bit sour, increasingly so towards the finish, with wet, farmy hops throughout and a great unpasteurized, fresh purity. Closer to a Belgian than American ale, overall.
