Bottle form Peckhams, Glasgow. Chestnut coloured with a frothy, off-white head. Sweet, fruity aroma. Flavour had some caramel, nuts, dark fruit and an earthy, dry finish. Good.

brown/light red coloured ale, with a malt nose and a ruby malt flavor , little fruity malt little bitter chocolate. Moved as was wrongly placed in Cask rating when beer was split.

Bottled Although this beer was just one day past its best before there were slight signs of oxidation and fustiness. It’s dark ruby in colour and has a short lived off white head. Old nose together with fruit and alcohol. The same in the mouth. The flavour punches above its weight, and it drinks like a below average strength English barley wine. I liked it.

Bottled,500ml, pasteurised from Booths, longton, Lancs. Redish brown with white head. Smooth and slightly sweet ale, more malty than i remember the cask being, with really very few hop notes. Toffeeish, caramel on the finish. Not an outstanding beer, but reasonable.

Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Chestnut colour with thick head. Certainly looks and smells the part, this is a smooth malty rich beer, mid to dark malts with a dark fruitiness, almost a woodland fruits note. A hint of bitterness on the close, but not enough to improve the mark. Ok for a pasteurised bottle.

Bottle (RBESG 2008): Chestnut-reddish coloured, small persistent head; dark-malt and liquorice in the nose; light bitter-sourish flavour, quite light bodied; short bitter-malty finish. Not convincing...........
