Amber with a thin white head. Spicy malt almost Christmas ale like aroma. Rasins, malt and yeast flavour but watery. A little thin on the palate but still tasty, Personally I’d rather have a more solid beer with a much higher abv, but hey that’s just me?

A Mes rate: Bottle from Peckhams but supped at home. First off, must mention the cool bottle. Love the embossed glass hops at the top of the bottle. Nice shape too. Nice translucent red chestnut colout with a thin cream coloured film. Nice mellow sweet malt nose with a little caramel. Slight nasty note in the flavour that lets it down a little. Burnt malt, quite toasty. Bit of brown sugar and plenty of tobacco. Bitter note in the finish. Slightly thin in the mouth. Not bad but nothing to set the world alight.

Bottled. Nice ruby beer. If you want a beer with full sweetness, look no further. If you want some bitterness to balance, you’ll be better off with something else. But its by no means a bad beer.

Aroma of mainly caramel malts with some chocolate notes. Brown coloured, with a lasting, thin off-white-beige head. Taste is sweet, with caramel malts, some chocolate, some dried fruits, bit salty in the end. Dry finish.

Small yellowish head and rather opaque mahogany beer. Mix of chocolate, cacao powder & toasted hard cake. Some dried dark fruit; sweet-smelling but inviting, a bit like some German Bockbiere. Nearly shocking wry-strange taste, starting as human sweat, going over in salty notes - as some raw Japanese sea delicacy - towards a harsh, near-metallic bitterness. Rather empty MF, thin body. Just a lingering bitterness as burnt crust in the aftertaste. Weird beer, IMO. Again one where the nose is not in accordance with the flavour, and I can have problems with that.

500ml bottle from Booths. Deep red with lasting beige head. Malty fruit on aroma, quite smooth in mouth, fruity, red fruits. Quite creamy, bit empty. Nice redcurrant finish. Bit of caramel. Not a great beer, but tasty enough.

Beautiful dark color and a nice head. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel. The flavour is sweetish with notes of malt, caramel and a nice hoppyness. There are some sourish notes that gives a tingling sensation in the mouth, the finish is long with a nice bitterness.

Deep amber, reddish with a frothy beige head. Vague roasted aroma with sweet dark fruit notes. Malty, caramel sweet flavor with a light burnt finish.
