Sep 25, 2005 Lovely dark tawny colour, good, long lasting head, nice lace.A big roasted malt nose and palate to match. Rich and fruity with a slightly sweet bitter finish. Quite a complex mouthful and very satisfying. Peckhams.

Oct 20, 2007 Bottled@Poirotti’s Skotoberfest 2007. Surprise found among the Broughton’s. Rubyish amber colour with a small, but longlasting beigeish head. Sweet caramel malts and some slight hoppyness and raisins in the nose. Flavour is a lot of fruity hops, with some caramel malts and raisins. Aftertaste is like cherrycores. A really pleasant thing.

May 17, 2004 Bottled. Nut brown. Sweet and caramelly, very malty. Pleasant rich soft mouthfeel, fairly woody, balanced salty, bitter finish.

Feb 11, 2009 Bottled Although this beer was just one day past its best before there were slight signs of oxidation and fustiness. It’s dark ruby in colour and has a short lived off white head. Old nose together with fruit and alcohol. The same in the mouth. The flavour punches above its weight, and it drinks like a below average strength English barley wine. I liked it.

Aug 26, 2005 Bottle. Chestnut coloured with a slim, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has nice malt and caramel. Taste is hoppy, caramel, some chocolate and a nice bitter finish that also has some roasted malt. Nice medium mouthfeel, with low carbonation. A good and interesting ale.

Jan 7, 2004 I hadn't had this for a while - nice to drink it again. This is a rich, quite complex beer with biscuity malts and lots of fruitiness. A good bottled beer.

Dec 28, 2005 This is one of those bottles that you see regularly on the shelf and pass it by untill another day.Well I eventually decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised.Dark with a big head and lots of maltiness.Lovely full mouthfeel and all round a quite imressive beer.Wont wait so long for the next one.

Feb 23, 2004 Fine malty aroma. Appearance is amber, clear, head is medium. Some laqurice in the flavor.
