Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Ingredients: Pale, Crystal and Black Malts; Northdown hops.
"Deep reddish amber in colour, with a thick creamy head and delightful hop aroma. On the palate, it is predominantly dry, though the malt character is evident in flavour and body, and it finishes with a long-lasting and pleasant hop bitterness."

Quite a bit different from the small handful of "English Strong Ales" that I’ve had to date, but quite a delightful drink nonetheless. Great look - a clear, dark red body with a creamy tan head. The aroma is a blending of caramel and toffee with a sturdy whiff of smoked peat drifting through. Thick and creamy in the mouth, it delivers a flavor of the sweet malts, slightly smoked, with a solid delivery of earthy hops that remains into the prolonged bitter finish. A masterful piece of brewing.

Bottle. Cppery, red, amber color. Small white head. Malty caramel aroma and herbal hop smell. Taste is winish, oaky, and has caramel malt. Pretty interesting in flavor. This is a fairly good beer.

A new arrival bottle from Peace St. Market, Raleigh. Pours very dark copper/brown with medium, creamy tan head. Aroma is caramel malt, hops, toffee, cabernet, brown sugar, and big smoky figs. This aroma was definitely not dead. Tastes caramel malty, with big brown sugar, toffee, some figs, and scotch elements. The aroma was better than the taste. Smooth finish, but lacking complexity and this one gets a tad sour as it finishes. Great start, mediocre end....

Dark red color with a thin head. The aroma was completely dead; nothing whatsoever. Malty body with a fair dash of grains. This tasted more like an amber or bitter than an English Strong, especially at 5%. Oh well, a decent session beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark bronze with a creamy, cappuchino-like head. Quite full-bodied in spite of the low alcohol. Very aromatic with a dark and lightly burned character and a nice hoppiness that reaches far into the finish. 010104

Poured nice medium chestnut with thick, dense tan head which faded slowly to thin covering with nice lacing. First aroma hit was milk chocolate then malt, very little yeast on the nose. Flavors were nice malt, som hops, pepper, and background of herbs. Very pleasant ale to drink.
