| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 3, 2004 fairly malty aroma, however very faint malt taste, a bit watery with a bitter finish, not bad, but no reason to go out of your way for it. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2004 Poured a caramel brown with a decent frothy head. Has a nice malt backbone with a bit of grape. Finishes nicely. Very good. TheBeerGod (3171), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Had this at the Bon Vivant Market Beer Lovers Club on 1-30-04 but I needed a bottle of it to get a more firm handle on this. Pours a ruby brown mix with a foamy tan head. The head looks like tan sea foam. Nose is malt and hops with some sweet notes. Very creamy mouthfeel with a spicy sweet tongue. Malts, some spice, and hops seem to form the basis of the taste of this one. Very drinkable and smooth, but a strong ale at 5%? Good beer and worth trying. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

Malty and caramel aroma. Flavor was a sweet, spicy treat. Very good. biermonk (259), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2004 Poured a deep amber color with ahuge tan head that was very determined to stick around and when it did subside a bit it clung desperately to the sides of the glass. Aroma was very malty with some bready tones as well. flavor was sweet malt to start then took abit of a turn towards a sour bitter finish. Started out very nice but i must say faded in the end. Overall not a bad beer and thanks to harlequinn for the recomendation. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2004 A very typical strong ale, the taste is reminiscent of old speckled hen, with a bold malt character that is lightly buttery, with a bit of honey but turns sour in the aftertaste. The palate is just too contrasting, and unbalanced. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2003 Pours a very hazy brown color with a sticky predustdant (yes, I made that word up) head. Aroma is lightly creamy and malty with a very hoppy after-thought. The flavor is very rich like the style dicatates and I can't complain about this one. I put this one off for so long but it ended in pleasure, not regret, praise Brigum!
