440ml can from Sainsbury’s because they were selling off single cans for 58 pence each. Clear copper colour, lasting beige head. This was one of the first bitters I drank all those years ago. Not to many high hopes on opening this. Bit of creaminess on aroma. Faint hop, but not much else. Fine, but thin in the mouth. Some bitterness on the end, but no real character. Dull.

Cask Conditioned at The Saye & Sele Arms, Broughton. Copper amber colour with thin head. Boiled to a mild tasteless mush of flavours, is this bitter? Not in my book. A little maltiness and sweetness, not much else.

Amber colour. Mild, malty and slightly hoppy. A little weak body. It has a short finish.

Canned. An amber coloured beer which has no aroma save for water. The taste is boring and tinny. There is a little creaminess but otherwise it’s pretty crap.

March 2004 Keg. Royal Oak, near Folkestone. Creamy. Thin. Dry. Some mild and attractive bitterness that finishes only a bit stale. Finish soon fades. There’s nothing quality about this, but it’s mostly inoffensive. Acceptable for a keg. [1.9]
July 2007 Keg. Kentish Lady, boat on the Medway. An acceptable malt tasting bitter - not heavily carbonated. Drinkable, with some hop pellet bitterness to finish. [2.3]

Malty, slightly eggy aroma. Some sweetness in the flavour and minor bitterness. Actually the taste isn’t too bad; it’s just on a very small scale. Afterwards you wonder why you bothered.

Can. Amber bronze, thin moderately lasting white head and moderate condition. Low fruity caramel aromas, thin in the mouth with traces of fruity caramel and a sweet toffee finish.
