A cute chestnut coloured beer with light foamy head. Fruity malts on the nose, very traditional. Hints of liht hoppage in there too. Very malty in the mouth with a tight carbonation and a golden syrup like finish. Quite rich and boozy. Raisins, figs, plums and prunes combine to some kind of meta-laxative-fruit flavour.
Not a great beer at all but drinkable.

A superior taste that has good balance between flavor, bitterness and aroma. Fratto (728), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear copper amber with a medium creamy off white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a spicy fruit aroma with caramel and light bready malt. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter malt with caramel and a nice sugary finish. A good ESB from Boston Beer. markas101 (566), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Balanced hop/malt, with some sweet citrus lurking in the background. Challenging flavor, first sip is slightly sour, then changing to sweet bitter molasses. Finish is autumnal and earthy, prunes mostly. drowland (1410), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
