Bottle. Very cloudy light brown beer with a strongish head. The aroma is bitter and hopped, and the flavour is hopped and dry. Overall an average hopped and bitter beer.

Bottled. Muddy amber pour swirling with big chunks of sediment, but Octo left it on its side. Nose sharp and citric with a surprisingly acidic bite of Brett and earthy (American?) hops. Fresh and yeasty with some seriously Orval-like hoppy/Bretty spike softened with late Malted Milk sweetness. A nibble of chocolate. Earl Grey-with-milk leafiness and dunked Hobnob. Not sure it’s meant to taste like this, or if it just does because I’ve tipped all the yeast in, but very nearly a ringer for a young Orval. Really tasty ale.

Bottle. Golden brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are tea with peppery hops and clean malts. Flavours are sweet weetabix malts with dry black tea. Autumn fruit with spicy hops and a hint of citrus. Bitter and dry on the finish. Clean on the palate. Decent.

Oct, 2005Wallington Fest. Caramel and dry fruit. Butterscotch hovering on the edge of diacetyl. Hops in the finish. It’s a beer. [2.6]
May, 2007 Rochester Castle Beer Tent A sweetish bitter of little character and few hops, but quite drinkable. [2.6]

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A hazy amber beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity, while the flavor contains notes of caramel, yeast, and fruit, leading to a dry end.

Cask Conditioned, at the GBBF, 2004.
Golden amber body with a thin grey head. Slight sulphurous aroma. Flavour left and lot to be desired.
