| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2008 Bottled. Muddy amber pour swirling with big chunks of sediment, but Octo left it on its side. Nose sharp and citric with a surprisingly acidic bite of Brett and earthy (American?) hops. Fresh and yeasty with some seriously Orval-like hoppy/Bretty spike softened with late Malted Milk sweetness. A nibble of chocolate. Earl Grey-with-milk leafiness and dunked Hobnob. Not sure it’s meant to taste like this, or if it just does because I’ve tipped all the yeast in, but very nearly a ringer for a young Orval. Really tasty ale. leaparsons (4753), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
