Tap at Night of the Funk. Nice attempt from a new brewer, it’s good to see people getting right on the Wild train. Of course, it would be better if they strived to impress on their first big chance rather than just settling in with the chaff, but so it goes. The aroma has a punchy, puckering tartness, unripe grapefruit — not intense, but apparent. The vanilla is an odd mix of vanilla, butter, and spinach (all from the Chardonnay chips, no doubt), with some off-base plywood in the finish. Much better in aroma than flavor.

(Draught) Pours a lightly hazy amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of horseblanket, sweet tarts, herbs, and herb. Flavor of grass, some medicinal, herbs, and brett with a dry oak, somewhat bitter finish.

Pouring at the Night of the Funk event in Boston. Pours a hazy murky brown. This was weird. Smelled like caramel, with some hints of cinnamon. Tastes a bit like those little button candies on the long piece of paper, and a bit of licorice. This was just odd.

Sample at Night of the Funk 2009: Deep hazy copper pour. The aroma is all off/unwanted phenolics of plastic and band aid. Slick body with a flavor of rubber, band aid, terrible solventy and medicinal characteristics- probably the worst of the fest that year.

Sample poured from a bottle at NotF. A cloudy orange color with a small white head. Nose is cheesy and funky with a dusty, barnyard note. Palate is full, sour and quite carbonated. Flavors of dough and biscuit with a cheese note.
