Cask, Royal Blenheim, Oxford. Amber with a clean white head. Pleasant toasty aroma with bubblegum and berries. Rich toasty malt flavor with a woody finish. A very nice wintery sort of beer, made even better by being supped in a really lovely pub.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Chestnut colour with white head. Good fully rounded, balanced beer, nicely smooth body with a caramel, toffee sweet character then a tangy, fresh hop, lemony and flavousome. Bittersweet finish, I really enjoyed it.

Cask at the Blenheim, St Ebbes, Oxford 31-10-08 I had the first beer from this cask after it was put on, I must say I was quite impressed with it. I have to say this new White Horse Brewery owned pub in Oxford with ten handpumps will become a regular stopping off point for me every time I’m in town. Poured conker brown in colour, great clarity and with a small white head. The beer lacked a little on the aroma front but if one sniffed hard there was a little malt and fruitiness there. Taste was really quite malty with a good tang, some appleskin, lemonyness and crisp slightly sharp toffee apple were amongst the flavour’s. Maltiness also shows in the mouth, with reasonable bitterness and dries towards the end. Nice beer.
